Today is “crossover day” – the last day of this session for a bill to crossover from one chamber of the house to the other in Georgia. The velocity in which things change at the Capital is intense. Unfortunately, the bill(s) that would make the needed changes to allow the music incentive to be utilized won’t be put forward this session.
We are disappointed that Georgia’s music industry professionals aren’t able to attract out-of-state investments and productions through incentives that have grown jobs for film and digital entertainment among other industries.
GMP will continue pushing for our 20,000(+) music colleagues around the state and for the thousands of college graduates who complete music and music industry degrees in several state schools on an annual basis.
We need your support now more than ever.
