ANOTHER MILESTONE!
Georgia Music Partners is pleased to report that HB-155 passed the Georgia Senate, 46-7, but it’s not time to celebrate just yet…. There have been some amendments made that we hope to change before Sine Die (the last day of the session), Thursday, March 30, 2017:
· A 10 day minimum has been placed on the touring component of the bill
· The incentive has been reduced to 15%
The next step is for our bill to go to the Conference committee. If our proposed changes are passed by this committee, the bill goes back to the House for a vote, and then back to the Senate for its final vote. We remain optimistic this is possible. Keep your eye on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages @gamusicpartners for the latest updates.
The Georgia Music Investment Act will then go to Governor Nathan Deal’s desk for his signature.
